Simple Answers to Simple Questions
Why no embedded Multisite in the QuickSet C20?
It’s simple. Embedded multisite is convenient for very small applications where the quality of the participants’ multisite experience and ability to scale may not be critical.
A scalable infrastructure approach employing a Codian MCU will provide a better user experience in both scheduled and ad hoc conferences. Transcoding reduces impact on network congestion and bandwidth demands. Did you know that a Codian HD MCU can return 720p quality video to endpoints at bandwidths as low as 512K to each system? The built in gatekeeper function of the MCU enables the ability to create a simple dialing plan for your customers. Included ConferenceMe enables MCU delivered desktop VTC clients so that anyone with a PC and a webcam can join conferences. A Codian MCU may be registered to other SIP services including phone systems to allow for audio participants in video calls.
Network MCU’s are expensive. How do I deliver the value at affordable prices?
When Tandberg announced the QuickSet C20, they also introduced two endpoint/MCU solution bundles. The MCU-4501 is an HD MCU with 6 ports. There is an option to add an additional 6 ports.

Tandberg also offers the Shield Leasing program. This unique leasing offer not only allows customers to acquire new technology using operating budget dollars, but it also provides for a complete technology refresh at the midterm of the lease without penalty to the customer. Tandberg Shield is a great way for your customer to purchase to their needs now with the added benefit of knowing that should their needs for video grow, they can be assured that they will not be straddled with outdated or insufficient equipment down the road. - 18x lens, Simultaneous Component HD (1080p, 1080i or 720p) and SD outputs
- 1.3 Megapixels
- Optional video output cards available
- Includes PowerRite power supply, IR Remote and AC cord set
ControlVIEW XHD Automated PTZ camera controller with HD, RGBHV and SD video switching, video transitions and camera preset trigger functionality

ControlVIEW XHD is an automatic camera control system designed to control up to six PTZ cameras (or other video sources) and assign up to 72 total camera preset positions. The ControlVIEW XHD 6 x 1 switcher accepts analog SD, HD and RGBHV signals on all inputs and up/downscale these signals to dual program outputs at either an SD, HD or RGBHV resolution.
The system works with a variety of PTZ cameras in the Vaddio line. Input trigger accessories that work with ControlVIEW XHD include Vaddio TouchVIEW RF buttons, StepVIEW Mats, AutoVIEW IR sensors and MicVIEW, as well as other third-party contact closure devices. Simply program a trigger device, such as a StepVIEW Mat, to a preset camera pan/tilt/zoom position. When an instructor walks onto the StepVIEW Mat, ControlVIEW XHD moves the camera to the programmed camera position, and then switches to that camera.
ControlVIEW XHD can also be connected directly to Precision Camera Controller for a low-cost HD switcher/camera controller package.
Key Features:
- Controls up to six cameras and stores 72 camera presets internally
- Six-port automatic video switcher
- Transitions include cut, cross fade or a variety of wipes
- Connects to Vaddio Precision Camera Controller via Link Ports
- Master RS-232 Control Port
- Compatible with Vaddio, Panasonic, Sony and Canon robotic PTZ cameras

ProductionVIEW HD-SDI Camera Control Console with HD-SDI and SD-SDI video switching, video mixing and automated control functionality
Due to the increased demand of Serial Digital Interface (SDI) in live broadcast, Vaddio created the ProductionVIEW HD-SDI multi-camera control system with an integrated 6 x 2 HD/SD-SDI seamless video switcher. Because the majority of robotic PTZ cameras currently available on the market offer HD-SDI or SD-SDI cards, the ProductionVIEW HD-SDI is designed to connect easily via a single coax cable for video. ProductionVIEW HD-SDI includes the 3 Gigahertz HD-SDI standard (SMPTE 424M) for 1080p video, as well as SMPTE 292M (HD-SDI at 720p or 1080i) and SMPTE 259M (SD-SDI).
The control surfaces includes a broadcast-style 3-axis Hall Effect Joystick with twist handle zoom control, as well as separate Pan, Tilt and Speed control knobs. There are six discrete auto-sensing RS-232 camera control ports and 12 camera pre-sets per camera for storing frequent shots. Because ProductionVIEW HD-SDI is a live broadcast production console, not a computer, the entire system produces only one frame of delay - a critical requirement for live production where image magnification is used.
Key Features:
- Accepts any combination of input signals from HD-SDI and SDI video sources (HD-SDI at 1080p, 1080i and 720p; SD-SDI)
- Transitions include cross fade, nine wipes, cut, fade to black (FTB)
- 3-Axis hall-effect joystick
- 12 Camera presets
- Lower Screen Graphics feature for inserting graphics over video
- Knobs for adjusting focus, iris, transition speed and pan/tilt/zoom built into the console
- AutoVIEW contact inputs for camera switching
